Distinguished Clinical Teacher Award (DCTA) Subcommittee

The Distinguished Clinical Teacher Award (DCTA) subcommittee oversees the awarding of this accolade each year to a deserving NIH faculty member. The process involves soliciting nominations in June from all NIH fellows detailing the nominees' contributions to clinical teaching. The subcommittee co-chairs tally the nominations and present the results to Felcom. Following selection, the Office of Intramural Training and Education notifies the recipient the award is presented at the DCTA award ceremony by the DCTA chairpersons.

DCTA 2009

Nominations for the 2009 Distiguished Clinical Teachers award will be accepted from 6/10/09 through 8/13/09.  The award recognizes excellence in mentoring healthcare professionals, excellence in teaching about issues related to direct patient care and outstanding contributions to the advancement of clinical research. Eligible faculty include:

NIH senior clinicians, staff clinicians or tenure-track clinical investigators.

Name and Institute of the nominee

A brief statement of support addressing the key areas above.

 
As reminder, nominations are accepted from

1) All NIH Clinical Fellows,

2) NIH Research Fellows who have direct patient care responsibilities at the NIH

3) Former Clinical Fellows who have completed their patient care roles at the NIH within the past 6 months
